Sweet and Sour Sauce

Homemade sweet and sour sauce is so much better than anything you can buy at the shops and takes 2 minutes to make. You can adjust how sweet or sour it is or add spice if you want some heat.

Roasted Vegetable Stock

Roasted Vegetable Stock is a deep, flavourful liquid that you can use in soup, stews, sauces and for poaching proteins.

Fig, Lemon and Cinnamon Jam

I rarely plan to make jam or chutney. It happens because I have fruit that I forgot to use and I need to turn it into something ASAP! I don’t need recipes that require a kilo of fruit because I rarely have a kilo of leftover fruit so this quick and easy recipe makes one jar.

Hot Coconut Rum Eggnog

Paul and I first drank this hot eggnog at the German Christmas Market in Vancouver in 2015. I kept the mugs and recreate this delicious drink every year.

Hot Spiced Apple Cider

Hot Spiced Apple Cider makes the house smell beautiful. I whip up a batch to drink whilst writing Christmas cards. It makes everything feel extra festive.

Joyce’s Salsa

My Mother-in-law’s salsa is spectacular and she’s said I can share it with you. A good chop and a stir then you have amazing salsa to put on tacos and wraps or straight into your face with the help of a few tortilla chips!

Tomato Ketchup

Shares in ketchup must be a pretty safe bet considering how much the average 6 year old can consume. I decided to have a go at making my own and was delighted by how delightful it is to make and how good the final product tastes.

Hot Tomato Masala Chutney

Every year we end up with some tomatoes with splits, dents and holes in them and they’re perfect for making chutney. I simply cut away any damaged pulp and use the rest to make this sweet and spiced chutney that is delicious on mature cheddar and crackers
