What’s the best way to cook Fish Fingers?

Fish fingers are a childhood staple and I cook them almost every week for the kids. My two have become aficionados on the cooking of fish fingers so I cooked them three ways to see which ones got the biggest thumbs up. Pan fried, oven baked or grilled, which way is best?

  • Pan Fried Pros: This was the quickest cooking method (8 minutes) and the outside was the crunchiest of all methods. Cons: It requires extra fat to cook and if you don’t keep an eye on the heat they can burn. 8/10
  • Oven Baked Pros: This is the easiest way to cook them (into a 200°C oven for 12 minutes) and the fish was the sweetest of all the methods. Cons: The crumb goes soft and the fingers lose their shape. 7/10
  • Grilled Pros: Simple cooking method (grill under a 200°C heat for 12 minutes turning half way) crunchy crumb and soft fish. Cons: Turning the fish fingers can make them fall apart. 9/10
